Various internet sites, such as Wikipedia, have protested today with blackouts in response to the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA). There is a concern that these acts will impact freedom of information and government will abuse their new powers. How will this website be effected by these acts? Is the heyday of the internet over?

Although Stop Online Privacy describes the meaning of the bill perfectly, as far as I know it is called Stop Online Piracy.
ReplyDeleteWhich will lead to government sponsored piracy as we can expect.
Thanks Andre, I have amended my post.
DeleteIt was a bit of a Freudian slip. Stop Online Privacy is another thing which has been put in place quite successfully by Big Brother since 9/11. Everything we do online is watched and recorded. In Italy you need to show your passport in an internet cafe.
